I've tried ball molds and silicone molds and both had serious problems (silicone molds had to wait at least a week but they still crumbled, the ball molds got stuck on one side and wouldn't come out). no breakage.) The press was very easy to use and I was able to make as much as I wanted at once instead of having to wait a week or so between batches for my molds to be ready. I learned as I walked, so some shapes worked better than others, but after a few tries, I learned how to grip firmly and squeeze the lever while lifting to make the shape work better. (I started with purple so you can see the difference.) I also really like that they adjust to the amount you want to pack in the keg. The full barrel looks about the same as the silicone molds I used, but I was able to fill it halfway and 1/4 the leftovers to make usable bombs, only smaller. I might actually make half size as my standard in the future because they end up getting pretty big. I was afraid they would crumble but they came out of the packed keg quite hard and I'm sure they will dry quicker than the ones I had to leave in the molds for a long time. They also look a lot better than the ones I've made in any other form.
