We like the quality of the material used for this drawer lid. The size you see in the photos is 36 inches and you can see that it fits very well. The screen allows our pup to see outside the cage and still get air. The material is mostly plastic and is basically a very heavy screen. We don't use it as a sunshade but I can see where it could help a little as the material is about the same as some of the outdoor sunshades we have. The upper is made of canvas-like material and has a lot of weight, which will definitely block out the sun if you use it for that. The photos show that the sides are panels that attach to the edges of the inner screen with Velcro. Material. It works well enough that we use it on our pup at night. We don't close the front gate at night, so in the photos they are on the ground in front of them. Hopefully these photos show how cavernous the drawer looks with its fabric sides. It really feels like a hideaway and our pup seems to love it. My only complaint is with the zip ties circled in red in the photos. The strap hanging above is *in* the box, and you can guess what each creature is doing with it. You chew on it and our pup does just that. These straps are needed to attach the front or side panels of the screen, so there are two of them. This is not a problem when used to hold the rolled up panel, only when the panel is down and the strap is hanging unused. Perhaps the only improvement I can suggest is to place the straps on the outside and the ring they attach to on the inside, effectively flipping the case inside out. I was thinking of doing just that but then the zippers would be inside so I haven't done it yet. For now I'm just trying to hide the strap hanging in the drawer by hiding it under the top panel and so far it's working. The remaining 4 straps circled in the same image secure the screen cover to the drawer. Our pup hasn't tried chewing them yet, but I'm wondering if that time will come. We will see. In general, we really like the cover. I messed around with these straps a bit but I don't have a better solution for them as they are needed for tying the zipper holes. This is a good box cover.
