The view through this telescope is clear and undistorted. Assembly is easy, but the instructions do not give any instructions on how to install the spotting scope and two bonus eyepieces. Bad tripod adjustment mechanisms are killing me. Vertical control is via a plastic flap that must be opened and closed manually in every position. The screw is so inefficient that the field of view slips down 20 degrees after fully tightening. Horizontal use of sticks and much more tolerant. The tripod is only 5 feet tall. Astronomy requires you to lean up to 4 feet to hit the eyepiece. Bottom line - not for tall people, not for inexperienced users, and a poorly designed tripod needs to be thrown away. All in all I don't recommend it.
