I recently bought a new drill/screwdriver with a quick change hex chuck. I bought this shank to convert a standard chuck into an adapter so I can use any of my old [non-hex shank] drill bits with a new drill bit. That does not work. The short segment at the end of the shaft that is to be locked in the quick-change chuck is too long. It is therefore not fixed in the quick-change chuck. I could also use the original round shaft of the standard chuck.
