I've been using mine for a full season now, year round not just summer (about 13 months so far). I use it to flush a 200hp Yamaha. and 9.9 horsepower after every trip to the salt here in the Pacific Northwest. I handle this like any other piece of plastic on a boat, like the actual connector you use for flushing, and I've had no problems with it breaking. It's plastic, so common sense tells you you can't treat it like a brass fitting and drop the hose down while it's connected to the end. It's a basic device with no flow control other than turning it on and off, but I don't see that as a huge issue for what I'm using it for. First I flush the motor with water and then use this device to run a salt terminator through them until the tank goes from blue to clear and you're done. No leakage problems so far.
