Wanted to get rid of that huge antenna mast but didn't want a tooling solution. This matched my old base perfectly, but I used two strips of tape to keep the wire inside in front of the spool. The spool is somewhat unnecessary as it just takes up more space, but if you know your way around, just do what the other reviewers have done and change the wire to your liking, or even just a bit of tape like I did . I have good adhesion on the base of the product but the adhesive strip is really bent as other reviewers have pointed out. I also screwed it on and placed it on the roof with no problems. The screw is bigger than the hub on my car, but other reviewers also mentioned it, so go for a smaller screw if it bothers you. I can see a small gap between the plastic and the roof where the tape is showing in places, but that's only on close inspection and it doesn't bother me at all. Somewhere near my car this thing sits like it was factory installed and the glossy black shines just amazing. I won't lie, when I turned on the radio in the driveway I could only pick up an FM channel. This may be because a longer propeller causes a weak connection to the product's antenna, or it may not be as efficient as a tall mast. I live in the country so maybe the signal will be better if it's closer to the signal source. Satellite radio worked well. That's not a problem for me, since I mainly use the car radio as an AUX for the tablet in my car. If your main source is FM radio, you may need a device with a dual antenna if you live out of town. If you mainly use AUX or live in the city, then this will not be a problem for you. Conclusion: I am very satisfied with the product. It definitely makes my dart stand out and shows off the other shiny details I've installed.
