If your car has a backup camera connected, this WickedHD will work as both a replacement and an aftermarket kit. With additional cameras, images are sent to a dashboard-mounted monitor. I recently bought a used car that had a monitor installed and the seller removed the camera prior to the sale. Received this hoping it would fill the bill and was not disappointed. I have to admit I had to wait for my grandson to come and pocket it while I'm baking cookies - he's working the machine. He said there were no problems. He would have preferred if the manufacturer had a YouTube video with how-to instructions, but he pulled it off intuitively. In the box was a wiring diagram. Basically, you can attach the camera mount to the plate mounts. The power cable is connected to the reversing light. Make sure you don't connect it to a permanent power source - it should only activate when reversing. I'm not sure what he did to connect it to the monitor but he said it was easy. The picture seems pretty good and as I live in an area where there is a lot of pedestrian traffic and I have to reverse, I'm glad I have this extra safety gear. I've been warned - grandma - that doesn't mean you don't have to look back and use the mirrors - it's just another place to scan while reversing.
