The perfect parrot toy!

Update in a few months. We now have *4* of these ladders so it's clear we're very happy with them. We have one in the cage, one hanging from door to floor and two on different levels of a large PVC bird tree next to our parrot cage. ----------- Original Review -------- I hung this ladder in his cage from low on one side to very high on the opposite side, fairly close to his food bowls and it quickly became one of his favorite vacation spots. He could easily run up and down various stairs. When we started trying to teach him to get out of the cage it occurred to us that he could easily get to the house with a spare ladder (his wings were cut off his wings). previous owner). We left the original where it was and bought a second one outside the cage. It worked *perfectly*; he got it right away. The ladder barely touches the ground and he can easily climb it and get into the cage. He has to use his beak as a third appendage to get the final distance sideways into the door itself. We played with the rope to help, but it needs to be fixed in the cage to really help and most of the time we don't bother with it. This means that we are MUCH more comfortable leaving his door open. (when we're home!) So if he wants to, he can jump out and explore without getting stuck outside the cage. In fact, on several occasions we found him "walking" alone; I think it's a good way for him to feel free but still be able to run home safely whenever he wants.
