Squirrels hate it!

This is the best of the pepperoni batter. I've tried a few others - some didn't work at all, some worked for a while, but this one always works. If you were to compare it to the others in color you would see the difference: this one is much darker which may not mean anything but after using the others it becomes obvious that this is the case as there is no better word . , Pepper! When I used the others I found them good, after about a month the squirrels seemed to get used to the pepper taste…

Same product as WBU Non-melting Hot Pepper Dough

I purchased Hot Pepper Fat from Wild Birds Unlimited (WBU) and was very pleased with their product but it doesn't always work very well for me at their store. So I decided to try this hot pepper without melting any fat for the convenience of Revain Prime. When I received it I compared the guaranteed analysis and found that they were identical. Then I compared the ingredients and found that they were identical as well. Then I noticed something very interesting. WBU Lard is also made by C&S…

Great in hot weather and where squirrels are a problem

I buy this grease for my feeders for several reasons: - I have many birds that love grease. In addition to a variety of woodpeckers, it also attracts crested tits, mockingbirds, titmice and others. - Since I feed the birds, I also have a lot of squirrels. Other fat disappears quickly and proteins dominate the feeder, but they don't touch that fat and leave it to the birds. - I live in Florida and the summers are very hot and humid. Many varieties melt and get very mushy in hot weather, but this

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

We love watching the birds at the bird feeders but are put off by the fact that squirrels round them up every day and eat anything that catches our eye. We have tried several hot salas and this is the favorite of birds, songbirds and others. The woodpeckers are waiting for us to put it out and start muttering, wishing we'd avoided them so they can gas up. I saw someone "warn" you about the hot pepper part, but that makes it effective for feeding birds. . If you want to attract squirrels, use…

Pros
  • Good product for the price

Songbirds LOVE this fat, but squirrels hate it.

Our birds LOVE C&S Hot Pepper Tallow! And they are picky! They will add fat to their bills for inferior cakes. Squirrels are completely disinterested. We live in the wooded hills of East Bay in Northern California and the birds that love this place the most are Tits, Juncos, Nuthatches, Tits, Finches, Sparrows and the occasional Fluffy Woodpecker. Also Scrub Jays and Steller's Jays, but luckily it's mostly the little guys who are literally all over the place in this lard. They like to stand on…
