Works reasonably well. Alignment issues can occur when viewing close objects because the digital camera and thermal imager are misaligned. You can select the distance to compensate in the menu, but there is only one of several options (e.g. 1 meter, half a meter, etc.) for very short distances. If the object is far away, this is not a problem; but within a foot or less it may be. Also, the lens is a bit wide-angle and there's no way to focus. I'm not sure what hyperfocal distance is, but it seems like things can be a little blurry in a macro situation. Apart from these limitations I have no problem with it, it has some unique features like the ability to mix digital camera and thermal images differently, the image updates quickly and the resolution is decent. An application that allows you to view the output on a PC screen works well and I was able to use a screen capture utility to create movies from it.
