This product does exactly what you need to prepare for an automotive refinish. I've been doing retouching since 1975, that's 45 years of experience. This includes the use of matches and sandpaper, dental tools, etc. Rotating the head as instructed, the fiberglass in this product will remove surface rust, wax, etc. and protect the nearby painted surface. Very gentle but please follow the instructions as fiberglass is irritating to our body!
