This collar comes highly recommended. We have a small mix of Aussies and it needs a bit of tweaking. So far the horn and vibrate buttons were all she needed, didn't use a shock. There are 2 levels of shock along with beep and vibration. The horn feature is great because if she's in the woods I can honk her (by holding it down) and hear her approaching. Very easy to use. The collar has an on and off button with an adjustable collar. No batteries to tinker with either, just a basic USB charger with lanyard and remote control. Not sure about range but we use it on 5 acres of trees with no issues.
