These strips are very accurate. I know this because I tested them for the first time in pH 8.8 water that I drink :0) When I bought them I knew they were "universal" strips, although I was planning on testing my personal pH (urine is my body's attempt). more alkaline). That being said, my next purchase might be from a brand that lists pH in quarters (eg: 5.75, 6.25, etc.). These quarter decimals are important to the human body but aren't really needed when testing your pool. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the container is awkward to open/close. The instructions also say to store in a cool, dark place, but the container is transparent(?), why not make the container out of milk plastic to keep the sunlight out. Not a big problem, just an observation. In summary I would recommend it for general or general purpose use and they are 10x better than the litmus paper I bought at the pharmacy :0)
