I needed this to play games from my switch to VGA (PC mode) with HDMI. So far I have tested 4 TVs in my house and it doesn't work on 2 of them but it works on the other 2. Now the picture on one of the supported TVs doesn't adjust properly vertically even if adjusted in the settings etc. but the other shows perfectly! So I know the cable works, that's my point. I actually bought it so I could play my Switch on a real Dell monitor during my lunch break at work and I can check it out tonight. Our monitors don't have HDMI, only VGA and DP. DP doesn't work if you switch from HDMI to DP, so no, and the downside to VGA is that it doesn't carry audio, but the headphone jack on the switch still works in docking mode. worked, I didn't notice any input lag at all. I'm using a third-party mini-dock and an HDMI to VGA adapter and I still have no lag. It can be different when I test at work. Tested to work with no issues except the monitor only accepted 720p and showed "mode not supported" until I lowered the output resolution on my switcher.
