First I bought another one with three cutters in one block. The gear broke after about three uses. Returned it and bought this one mainly because it was 100% stainless steel and not the white metal I envisioned when I originally bought it. I didn't open it to find out either. The bottom line is that it feels just as durable as other KitchenAid-branded accessories and will perform flawlessly for months. Seems to work even better with semolina flour (not easy to find where I am). Clean only with a dry brush. If you still use a hand crank cutter, this is for you. The feedback form asks for taste. I haven't had the desire to try it yet! But what it lacks in flavor it makes up for in easy-to-prepare, excellent homemade pasta.
