I was having trouble with my fridge and needed an easy way to control the temperature in the fridge and freezer without opening the door. I asked if this was a viable solution and another user said they use it for commercial refrigerators. I took 2 packs and put one in each compartment. They seem to be working fine. This is a relatively inexpensive way to monitor the fridge's temperature until I fix it.
