That's exactly how I felt with this blanket. It didn't feel like a secure hug, it was suffocating. I sleep very well and I can't turn off the air in my house too much at night because my elderly mother-in-law lives with us and is very outgoing. to the cold, so I was drawn to the certainty that this blanket has a warm side and a cool side. I toasted every night trying this blanket on. I'm 15 pounds, which is true to my height, so that doesn't mean it wasn't the right weight for me. Also, it had a chemical smell that bothered me a lot. I seemed to respond with a ticklish cough that didn't stop until I pulled back the covers. I really wanted this to work for me. my sleep is bad I sleep very little every night. I've taken every measure possible to fix it: darkened my room, closed the door to keep my dogs and cats from wandering, turned my phone off at least 30 minutes before bed. That was my next step and it failed completely. Maybe I should have given it more time but the misfortune of my third night of poor sleep convinced me to just give up and send it back.
