Great when installed!

First of all I would like to say that this is a very nice box, it looks good and is very functional. I used it to provide an outlet for a generator in my shed. You will be satisfied once you install it; If someone else installed it I would give 5 stars. Although the installation is a bit complicated1. As some others have pointed out, the pics look like it has cutouts on the bottom and sides. No, there's an embossing for it, but it's decorative only, you'll need a whole saw if you don't want to use the top.2. The door is not latched or removed (it is held in place by rivets). Working inside the box can be tricky as the door keeps closing or getting in the way of the screws on the back of the socket.3. The internal ground strap is very short considering the weight of the cable you will be working with. Be prepared to use a longer one if you have trouble screwing it on after you've wired everything up. The screws holding the exhaust port metal faceplate are very small and a bit difficult to screw in and tighten everything5. If you're feeding from the bottom, you really need another 1/2 to 1 inch length to make room for the heavy wire (#6 in my case) to make the required twist. I installed it and it's very nice, but if I were to do it again I'd look for a box that's a little bigger and has a removable door.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Requires socket
