I wouldn't give a star for value for money if I could. The scent was great on the item, that doesn't mean your clothes will smell like that. The product presentation was also good. They presented it well, but it doesn't work. I know a lot of people have posted about this but I really think they got lucky. They may have washed the item immediately after it got dirty or when the child got dirty. I really wanted them to work. The idea of never buying detergent again was like a dream come true. Before anyone asks, yes I put them in the sun to "charge". Yes I have used both instead of one. And yes, I've washed more than once. First, your clothes don't smell like you're wearing makeup. They don't smell like dirt either. They smell like they've just been washed in water. I have not used pre-treatment on anything in any wash, meaning I have washed the clothes with these items and then again with detergent to see if there is a difference without pre-treatment. First I have a blanket that I spilled coffee on, I took it to the laundry to use the front loading washing machine. When I brought it home it still had the coffee stain. I then rinsed it again with a Purex cap and while the stain didn't come out completely it was much smaller and fading compared to when I was just using the purple beads. Now about clothes. I washed some items with both balls and they were the same as the quilt, they had a pink stain on them maybe from a sock or something not sure but anyway a few items were pink in color and still looked dirty. So I immediately washed them with a Purex cap and the pink was gone again. I am extremely disappointed. It was just a waste of money, not to mention water and electricity from repeated washing. But I'm sure the person who sold them knows that. Please don't assume that you will be one of those people who leave positive feedback. They're probably just lucky, but in general they'll see that things aren't what they seem. Or maybe people still use pre-treatments and fabric softeners. You can get the same effect by just washing them in water without balls. I guarantee it.
