Review on Enhanced Pertronix D175510 Flame-Thrower Rover 8 Cylinder Plug & Play Electronic Distributor with Ignitor Technology and Vacuum Advance by Troy Henkhaus

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Immediate increase in performance without having to wait for the dizziness to recover. If you can still find a remanufacturer

Vehicle: 1988 Land Rover Defender 3.5L V8 Dual Carb Replacement: Lucas 35DLM (coil too - see other review) Easy. No more ballast or two pin ignition module. Built-in dizziness. Shaft with wd40 stayed, moved gear 30 degrees, made pump shaft stand at 10 and 4 o'clock, TDC on piston number one: caught fire immediately. Note: new work with V8. But after tearing up the top of this resto mod I did some more OT work and pulled the trigger to replace the Lucas block. Learned recovery and it took at least 5 weeks for similar or slightly more. I will eventually, but I was impatient. New technologies are SOMETIMES better. So far, so good. If you get the right spool then replacement will be easy. Don't worry about the correct resistor value and you will lose the "point of failure" by removing the ignition module on the Lucas unit. This can get expensive if you want the attachment to move to the fender or firewall due to heat issues. If you have time and are not in a hurry, consider restoring the original. If you want something that works, works, and performs well without spending a lot of money, this is your choice.
