Review on ๐Ÿ“Š Accurate Data Tracking and Versatile Control: Cateye Enduro CC-ED400 Computer by Patrick Arnautov

Revainrating 5 out of 5

4.5 stars: excellent device; Programming is a bit tricky because the instructions are so-so.

It was easy to physically install on the bike and it's well made - good and heavy off-road. The kit included everything needed for installation - zip ties, tape, etc. Installation instructions were clear. It's a little harder to program, so I'm deducting half a star. Not so much because of the device, but because of the instructions. It actually says instructions for 18 languages. Yes, I said 18! But after giving some basic stuff in 18 languages, they just use diagrams to tell you how to program it. Most of the programmed functions are reasonably easy, but if you have custom-sized wheels (like my 29er with a 3.4 tread) it gets a bit tricky. And if you don't enter the wheel size correctly, you'll have to reset the device and start over (which also means an overhaul of the clock). There is a wheel size chart to tell you which appropriate number to use if it is a custom size. But for myself I had to climb higher than indicated in the table. I then drove around and checked the Odo with the GPS and after a few tries I got it "good enough for a government job". I'm looking forward to three years of use, i.e. until the expected battery life, and will have to learn to program again. Anyway, after playing around with it a bit, I programmed it. Reading was clear and easy to use!

Pros
  • This is great.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
