Review on Stylish Boys' Kids and Baby Long Sleeve Shirt with Splendid Design by Rob Allen

I've been a fan of the Splendid brand for a long time, but I only knew their women's and maternity clothes. I was expecting this boy's long sleeve henley to be of the great quality I have come to expect from Splendid but I am very disappointed. Size 6. This shirt is ridiculously small on my son! It's more like a size 5 than a size 7. If you're looking to purchase this shirt, I would choose a size at least two sizes smaller. Aside from the different size, the quality is terrible. Although the t-shirt is soft (56% cotton/44% modal blend), it is very thin and sees through my son's nipples and belly button! When dressing my son in a long sleeve shirt I want it to be a decent weight to keep him warm and if I needed a light shirt I would just dress him in a short sleeve shirt. The stitching on this shirt is terrible, the inseams are stitched but with raw edges. Some of the top seams are very crooked which makes the shirt look very messy. After the first wash of this shirt, every open crotch seam was a frayed mess. The thin fabric also did not hold its shape after washing and became very stretched and looked sloppy. I am also disappointed that this Henley is made in China, the clothes I have bought from Splendid in the past have been made in the USA. . Not sure if all production is outsourced now or just the kids line. The move to China might explain the terrible quality, although I can see they still rate their products pretty highly. I wouldn't recommend a long sleeve shirt for this boy from Splendid. For clothes that are casual, too small and made in China, I'm sure you can do better for the price!
