I would normally give this radio 4 stars for sound, reliability and reception, no better or worse than 15 year old models. However, I'm taking it back to -2 stars because of two "features" that bother me after 6 months of use: 1) The only operation that can be performed on the radio itself is power off/on. Unlike with the remote control, you cannot change the channel or even adjust the volume. Want to increase it a little? Either keep the remote on top of the radio where the controls are located (so you don't have a remote) or find it where you last used it. When I ordered the radio it didn't sound as annoying as it actually was; I complain about this radio at least once a day because of this change from the old model.2. The "Aux In" connector is new, unlike the old model, and is a design I don't have a socket for yet. If it was used in previous models or had also differed in style I would have some of the required connectors. I'm using a connection to stream radio stations that aren't available locally. or like before. We bought two other Wave radios a few years ago. I see absolutely no difference in sound quality or reception between the new and old models. If I had to rebuild I would just look for a used old model instead of buying a new one.
