Review on Hamilton Beach FlexBrew 49949: Single-Serve Coffee Maker & Milk Frother, K-Cup Compatible - Black by Erin Leuenberger

Not as described. missing accessories.

I firmly believe that first impressions count and this product did not make a good first impression. Serve and Full Pot Coffee Maker Compatible with K-Cup Pads & Coffee Grounds Milk Frother.” Although the image in Revain's listing clearly shows a disposable coffee maker, I assumed the image was wrong as this listing has multiple options to choose from choices were made. Well the picture was correct but the description was wrong. This machine cannot brew a full pot, it is limited to a 14 ounce cup. Second, there was no basket for brewing ground coffee. There was a sticker on the cup stand that said "Brew Basket Inside," but the brew basket was nowhere to be found. I tried contacting support by phone (as per the manual) but received an automated message saying the phone lines were down due to the pandemic and emailed which I did. After a few emails (they checked here... yes I checked etc...) they agreed to send me the accessories. Customer service wasn't bad. Email replies were received within a reasonable time (24 hours) and provided a satisfactory resolution without undue hassle. As for the device itself... it works well. Unlike some other K-cup coffee makers, this unit doesn't have a hot water tank to provide instant hot water. Instead, each time you brew, you pour a portion of water (up to 14 ounces) into the brewer, then press the button and wait for it to heat the water and start brewing. Brewing a cup takes about 3-4 minutes, which is faster than brewing a full pot, but not as quick as other brewers that hold hot water. There are two brew options (regular or full-fat) and the coffee tastes the same as if it was brewed on a different K-Cup machine. The blower works great too and is easy to use. Just add your favorite milk (whole milk/skim milk/almond milk/etc.), press the button for hot or cold froth and let it sink in. where I pour water in the car (I'm right-handed). So if I fill a coffee mug with clean water and pour it into the tank, there is a high chance that water will splash onto the frother power bank and it won't look waterproof. I often spill water on or near the power bank, depending on which cup I'm pouring from. So who knows how long the power base will last? Overall, this is a decent one-shot brewing system, capable of making both K-cup and ground coffee (assuming the brew basket is included). The frother is a bonus when I want to make a latte, but I'm concerned about how well the Power Base will withstand the inevitable exposure to water. Also note that despite the description (assuming it hasn't been updated), this doesn't make a full cup of coffee.
