Review on Uniden SSS00265R Radar Detector Mount Bracket - Single Suction Cup - Compatible with R1, R3, R7, DFR9 by Larry Daniels

Overall a good but not perfect product. I bought it for a Uniden radar detector which in turn was for my Porsche GT3. I don't mention the latter out of vanity, but to warn Porsche 911 owners: the angular limits of this mount are insufficient to accommodate the steep pitch of the Porsche 911's windshield nose (i.e. face slightly above the horizon). I have the impression that this does not affect the sensitivity of the detector in any way, but it looks strange. So I modified mine. I disassembled part of the ball joint, then took a quarter inch round file and slowly sawed off just enough of the collar nut to allow more angular movement of the ball joint itself. Sounds more complicated than it is and took about five minutes. Best of all, it doesn't detract from the aesthetics of the mount in any way. The detector is now perfectly level. Finally, let me say that the suction cup and slightly sticky surface are excellent. Once that thing sticks to the windshield, it's guaranteed to go nowhere. And it goes off without leaving any traces. Can be reused many times.
