Each charge provides a few hours of light.

First. Whoever packs these headlights in this company is an absolute sadist. They're literally tangled up in a tangle of wires, like in this scene over the Christmas holidays. Since the onions are large, untangling them is very time consuming and frustrating. It took me 40 minutes to unravel them and halfway through I was tempted to just throw them away. Once you've cleaned up that mess, they're easy to set up. You put them outside and the sun does the rest. The solar panel is quite big and bulky. They need to find a spot that gets a lot of sun as they need a lot of energy. and when you hang them, you have to get creative. (I stabbed her in a ditch) The biggest limitation for solar lights compared to electric lights is how long the electricity lasts. After a fairly sunny day in a New England winter, I get 2-3 hours of light before the bulbs dim. I turn them off to turn them on when I get home from work (a bit annoying, need a small ladder due to the high position of the solar panel) because if they stay on to turn themselves on they only provide a few hours of light. So they will be dimmed at 7pm if they turn on at dusk. If you are looking for lamps that will give you several hours of light for a party or that can be used throughout the night, you need lamps that can be plugged into an outlet. a few hours of light so you can sip a few glasses of wine or smoke a cigar, they serve a purpose and save you from unplugging extension cords from the outlet. If you have more than one set, you will have solar panels everywhere. Just something to consider. When you consider how bright these lights are, it's amazing how small a solar panel is for the job. Between each bulb 32 inches. Maybe a bit too much space in my opinion. So there will be a loop for small spaces. They won't look like some pavilion photos without artistic brackets. The lightbulbs appear to be well made from plastic bulbs that will not crack or shatter. Given how difficult it is to untwist the wires, this is key. However, plastic bottles scratch and scrape and show more water stains than glass, which can give them a cloudy appearance. The strings themselves are heavy and feel solid. They come with an extra bulb, an extra fuse, and a very poorly written and overly simple instruction page. Based on my experience with solar lights I'm sure they will last 1-2 years before needing to be replaced. Even though they're solar powered, their environmental impact is probably a lot worse than plug-in models because if they fail after a few years, that's a lot of plastic (fins usually contain lead too) going to landfill. In general, I would probably connect lamps to myself in the future. If you live in a very sunny area and don't have external outlets, this is a good buy for you. If they last longer than a few hours, I would be completely blown away.
