This is my first white noise generator so I am pleasantly surprised with the quality and performance of this little white noise generator package. The car is smaller than the base car. The base/bottom of the machine has a light and speaker. The position of the light makes it kinda glow which makes it nice to look at. You can change the brightness of the glow, which is nice since the highest brightness is pretty intense. I use close to baseline. You change the brightness by holding down the light button and it will either get more intense or less intense. If you want to go the other way, release and hold again. There are 12 colors and the colors change seamlessly as I play with it. I prefer the softer colors of the 12. Some of the colors are quite intense. The main feature of this noise machine is the sound. The sound gets loud enough. And I'm amazed at the 30 different sounds it can make. However, I wish there was more variety in the mechanical noise realm. It has 5 in total: brown noise, white noise, pink noise, loud fan and quiet fan. I'd like some soft static or something. However, other sounds are quite pleasant, I liked the sounds of rain, sea and birds. There are even sounds for meditation, piano and other similar sounds in case someone wants to do yoga or something. The audio also disappears when turned off instead of suddenly cutting off, so that's a nice feature. I like the customizable timers for continuous, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, or 4 hours. I also appreciate the on and off switch. You can leave it plugged in, but don't turn on the tones. There's also a feature to trigger machine sounds with no lights on, which is handy for those who can't sleep with the lights on. However, he doesn't have the option to only use it as a night light, which was unfortunate as it could work as a night light that might turn off after a while. The LED indicators (for the timer) can be turned off, which is nice because they're distracting at times. One thing I didn't like that caused me to deduct a star is that after plugging the cable into the adapter, there is a gap of about 1/8 inch where the metal part of the USB was visible. As I could see the metal this seems a bit dangerous to me as children or pets can get into this small space. Otherwise I think it's a great little car for the price and seems great for travel given its size!
