Max weight 100 pounds? No way!

I bought this to put my old pachinko machine in my playroom. Assembly is easy but I made it difficult by buying a pair of TV wall mounts and using them on a stand rather than a bundle as the ones I bought are not as strong as stands with the bracket provided and allow for better access to the Rear offer TELEVISION. pachinko machine. The top mount easily replaced the mount that came with the stand. Of course I had to drill holes to mount the second bracket lower, but everything went smoothly. I won't go into the details of the entire modification and installation process, but everything worked as planned, except for an issue with the stand that required additional modifications. This stand is designed to support no more than 100 pounds. Don't believe it. It holds my pachinko machine, which weighs about 40 pounds, but the weight of the machine makes the stand lean too far forward. Not suitable for pachinko machines. Should he lean forward at all? I had to solve this by adding 1" washers to the screws holding the bottom TV mount that I added to the stand so it protruded farther than the top mount. This solved the problem, but I found that although most of the weight of the pachinko machine is less than the weight of the installed TV, the stand that I pushed to its full height isn't as stable as it should be . I chose this stand because of the dual support which I think gives it more strength, it should support 100lbs and also because it can be placed fairly close to a wall although it's certainly not wall support. If he weren't leaning against the wall, I'd worry about him falling backwards. Okay, yes, the stand is for a TV, not a pachinko machine, but if it can hold 100 pounds, what difference does it make what I put on it? With modifications, the stand worked for me, but if it's really rated for 100 pounds, it didn't tip forward and held 40 pounds, and I didn't have to do a spacer modification. The stand is actually pretty solid, but you won't be able to hang 100 pounds on it. If so, I have no doubt it would tip over easily. But how many people have a £100 TV? However, the weight specification is misleading. He can hold it, but not without leaning forward and feeling unsteady. I think this stand will work for most people, but I doubt I would hang a large, expensive TV on it.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • poorly thought out
