Surprisingly durable plastic

Like other reviewers, my main concern with this bottle is sturdiness. But, aside from that, I like it. When it arrived, I pulled it out and tried it out with our golden retriever. When out hiking, it's often hard for my husband because he wants our dog to drink safe water. This little bottle is a great inexpensive option for that. I tried folding the plastic back and forth several times and I did discover one trick that made it easier. When folding the bowl piece back onto the bottle, pull it back to a 90 degree angle, then pop the end of the bowl back into the shape that will fit onto the bottle. Then pull it back the rest of the way onto the bottle. If you pull it almost all the way back onto bottle without popping the end the opposite way, you won't be able to do it. It's weird to explain, but hopefully that will help when you do it. Doing it the way I found made all the difference in the world in how easy it is to use.Notes after using it while hiking: This bottle must stay upright or else it leaks. This makes it good for a walk in a park, but not for a big hike. The strap is small and thin which again is good for a walk in the park, but not for a walk up and down hills.Although you'd normally think of using this bottle on a hike, it would probably be best for car trips with your dog because you'd have everything altogether and not have to worry about finding the water and then a separate bowl for your dog when you get to a rest stop or a long walk in the park.

Pros
  • A must-have accessory for pet owners during hot summer months
Cons
  • The bottle may not be suitable for pets with limited mobility
