let women do all my sewing needs) but sometimes these women can be busy so I think I had to jump into this home sewing (just an emergency hand repair) and this kit is a decent if not ideal start. think it's worth it, not a big ticket here, no major complaints, but the plastic hinged case is pretty cheap (poor quality) and breaks easily (won't last long). Contains, as labeled, 12 spools of 35 yard polyester thread, sewing needles (actually only two), needle threader, A thimble (rather (very) cheap (plastic) on this one) and a rough (foam) pincushion (no tape measure and handy scissors included). Spools of white thread and a pair of spools of black thread. Other thread colors will cover a decent clothing repair kit. I would say that on the plus side there are quite a few different threads. A spool of white (strong) nylon line is included with this kit, but I purchased a spool of nylon line separately for use in situations where good tensile strength and durability are required. a large pincushion, a real metal thimble, a better sewing box, and a variety of other colors, larger spools and threads in other materials for different needs. For the price I think it's fair, although it would be better if it came in a much nicer metal case which is not easy to break as this plastic case sucks (the top transparent part separates easily from the bottom black plastic part of the case due to very poor cheap hinges). So when I was asked how this product could be much better and improved, replace a sturdy case with metal hinges (something like a larger metal cigarette case shape) and maybe a metal thimble and maybe 3 more sewing needles (5 total) and a spool with nylon thread instead . I can forgive a cheap pincushion as it works. scissors too. However, these improvements would be more expensive, even if the product cost more with such improvements, I would be willing say paying $7 more for a more attractive upgraded product/emergency and/or small sewing repair kit. This is a good buy, some elements are missing and could be better in some areas. If you buy this, it will likely come in handy, and you'll likely easily get your money back for the necessary repairs. It says "Made in China" although I've seen Chinese products that were much higher quality and better specs.
