Unsafe Product - Dangerous Overheating, Fundamental Design Flaw

I tried this on a 6 amp (nominal) thermoelectric chip cooler that actually draws about 5.5 amps. After two minutes, the center wire at the end of the lighter adapter became hot enough to cause a 2nd degree burn. I touched the wet sponge and it hissed. I estimate the plastic case would have melted in under ten minutes. It's also the worst fork I've ever seen. You can literally wiggle it back and forth 3/16" on the cord end of the plug when plugged into a standard cigarette lighter socket. Its diameter is a full millimeter smaller than any other lighter I own and 1.5mm smaller than the most suitable. (19mm vs. 20.5mm) The biggest problem with this plug is the spring under the cap. The spring maintains tension on the contact post and closes the circuit to the fuse. All current in the 14 gauge power cord must flow through it. The spring is made of wire with a diameter of 0.6 mm. The power cable has a diameter of approx. 1.9 mm. This means that the power wire has about 10 times the circular area (pi R squared) of the spring and should therefore have 10 times the power - if the spring were copper, which it wasn't. It is made of spring steel. Spring steel is a poor conductor, having at best 25% the capacity of copper. (about 10% average) So, assuming a more conductive steel, the spring has about 25% of the 10% amperage of 14 gauge copper power wire, or about 2.5%. This is approximately 0.375 A safe current carrying capacity, or 1/40th the capacity of 14 gauge wire. (15 amps) This thing just isn't safe to operate at or near its rating. Unsurprisingly, it caused fires. Also, the blue light is too bright to use in a car or truck at night. It will destroy your night vision and just isn't safe. You'll probably end up duct tape over it to preserve your eyesight, so it really doesn't make sense. Do we really need a bright light in the power cord to let us know the CB is on? Before that, I was only lucky with products marked K-40. I can't believe they are selling this poorly designed, dangerous item.
