Review on πŸ“² Universal Rotating Finger Holder for Ultra-Thin Smartphones by Saradhi Suter

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Don't expect it to last.

Conclusion: Less than 6 months after I installed it, this thing fell apart. I'm not rough with my phone (it's one of my most expensive pieces of electronics, you have to be careful!), but this ring holder just fell apart the other day. No warnings that this was going to happen, it just happened. If that doesn't bother you, read on. If so, look elsewhere. The glue that comes with the ring holder is mediocre. On the right surface it will hold up and be fine, but on a case or phone with a hint of rubber, don't expect it to stay in place for more than a day or so, maybe even a few hours. For reference, I have a Spigen case on my phone with a slightly rubberized back. If it was hard plastic, ceramic, metal or glass (the back of many phones and some cases) it would be fine, but not in my case. However, this problem is easily circumvented - a small 3M command strip fits snugly on the case and easily secures the ring holder. The ring holder itself is really very good. I've had several ring holders on my phones over the years and this one is very thin (exactly what I was looking for), 360 degree rotating (which is also important) and neither too tight nor too loose. To be honest, the ring holder is pretty much ideal on its own in terms of features. It also supports magnet holders which some ring holders don't have. I would still use it on my phone if it hadn't fallen apart last week. Right now I'm wondering if I'll get another one of these and expect to have to replace them twice a year (not bad for $7, honestly), or try to find one that might not be as lucky is of basic functionality but holds up better?
