The marketing highlight of this product is the improved display, which unfortunately is unusable for its intended purpose. Big, bright voltmeters show (cutoff?) voltage rather than measuring actual battery voltage. Obviously my intention is to show a "gas gauge" effect as the voltage bar increases while charging, but it only gets 4.2V for a Li-Ion battery and 1.45V for a Nickel Metal Hydride battery displayed. Insert a fully discharged lithium-ion battery. (confirmed with a 3V multimeter)) and it shows 4.2V. I expect the 2019 XTAR VC2S to read 3V, 3.1V, 3.2V, 3.3V, 3.4V, etc ., because it charges over time. Do not release products with design flaws!
