Review on IGaging 4 Precision Double Square by Anthony Heinrichs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality and suited my immediate needs

Despite some negative reviews here, many of them for poor quality, I decided to order this 4 inch iGaging square. I've seen the iGaging square compare to the much more expensive (and very accurate) Starrett. Recommended to use iGaging. I thought the quality of the iGaging square was excellent (and I liked that it came in a case). I already have two "standard" 12" squares. an Artisan and a Stanley. There is an easy way to check the accuracy of a square. Just put a piece of paper on the clipboard (you can also use a whiteboard ).Then draw a line along the blade Press the square against the edge of the clipboard/wood Then rotate the square 180 and repeat the process, drawing another line next to the first When the two lines are parallel , the square is accurate. As far as I could tell, the iGaging square was correct. I did the same test with the other two squares. Neither was "out of the way", but clearly set aside. Any inaccuracy naturally increases , when you draw longer lines. There are ways to adjust the accuracy of the square, but I didn't want to spend time on it. Also for my current goal I was able to adjust the län really don't use smaller 12-inch blades. As you can see from the photo, the task was to check the squareness of the new miter saw blade in relation to the saw table. Sorry if the photo is upside down. I couldn't figure out how to fix it. The 12 inch blade could not be used without removing the guard, which I didn't want to do. You also have to make sure that the blade of the square does not touch the saw teeth at the top and bottom. Using the 4" iGaging square, it was easy to check the squareness of the miter saw blade. In a way, I wish I had bought a "combo" iGaging kit. it is not necessary.
