I ordered a fan with alligator clips. What I got was USB. My first impression is that this is not what I ordered as the blades were 8 inches long. I started a chat with the Amazon team. After watching the fan for a minute or two, I measured the blades and it was the right size. Then I remembered that my phone charger had both Type-C and Type-A ports. I then checked the fan motor before I attached the blades and then after I attached them. To hang the fan I used a piece that nails the cable. from moving. I took a piece and screwed it to the ceiling of my van over my bed. I removed the metal bracket from the fan and finished attaching the piece of cable. This stopped the fan from oscillating. I turned off the box fan to see how this fan works. I was cold at noon. It was said it came with a remote control on the box but when I ordered it it didn't show the remote control. I forgot I had it, no sound. , but I plan to get a much more powerful fan for the front panel. I have to admit I'm glad I bought this fan. I don't know how it will work in a tent or cabin but met my needs
