I took it straight out of the box and used it. It left fluff on dry patches and streaks like your dry ones. A small amount of the remaining water evaporates, but luckily I used distilled water, otherwise it's sure to leave water stains. It's a nice towel, but if you watch a video where they put the towel down and give it a wipe once and it soaks up all the water, there's a reason they don't use a black machine like I've tried. I went back to the drying microfiber machine to collect the lint and dry the strips. I guess the perfect towel obviously doesn't exist, but this works about the same as the chemists' waffle towel.
