I've been using this new Mikrotik RB4011 for a month now and it was a much needed upgrade. I have Spectrum 100/10Mbps internet service and my old router didn't have the CPU power of this router so no more slow speed tests. Now I'm consistently seeing better results than advertised. Also, I noticed that the ping in online games is lower and the webpages load faster. This device needs to be set up by someone with a little networking knowledge or a lot of knowledge about networks, and there is a comprehensive GUI. called WinBox or ssh console to configure this router to do all sorts of things. I am aware of spam/hacker IP blocking and blocking ad servers using a DNS server. I also use a VPN when I need something from home. I haven't used POE yet but plan to connect my Mikrotik AP to it if I use a longer cable. We have many Mikrotik devices at work and they are reliable devices. You can see in my photos that I have other Mikrotik devices that are old and still work great but don't have a processor for this kind of routing. it is warm when not under load. The power connector is a big block and doesn't need to be pulled out, but I'd like to see a C14 computer connector since it's a high-end router. I was thinking of waiting for the wireless version of this router. But I didn't need it because I have a central hotspot that's a bit bigger and didn't exist yet. I don't need ears either, but it's nice to have that option. If you are looking for a good router for your home or small office, this is a great and powerful option.
