The whole toaster versus toaster controversy has always been a very hot topic in our house because one side was that the toaster takes up too much space and is normally only used to make toast. As a toaster, it has a large capacity not in the number of toasts but in the thickness and size of the toasts. Bagels and even Belgian waffles fit in easily. The clamping mechanism securely holds products of any thickness and centers them in the slot to ensure even heating from both sides. And when is a stand toaster not up to the task? Just turn it over and stand it up to use the toaster function. This has reduced controversy in our home as it is large enough to warm up or reheat pastries, bagels or other small snacks. Its toaster actually works very well, so I'd compare it to premium toasters that can easily cost $70 and have half the functionality. There are some things I don't like. First, the control panel isn't the easiest to use since there aren't any real buttons on it. Instead, the control panel uses integrated buttons rather than something more tactile. Another major complaint is about the tablet. The tray is made from a fairly light material and there is no grate to fit inside to prevent food from falling to the bottom to keep all sides crispy. The handle on the tray is also a problem for storage as it doesn't fold or store in any way. I had a problem finding a place to store it because it has an awkward shape. Overall it really solved a problem we have in the family so I think it's great. That solves our problem and does its job quite well. It's a little pricey, but I've spent the same amount on previous toasters, so I'm ok with that.
