I LOVE these candles! For sentimental reasons, I wanted to purchase these candles while vacationing in Northern Michigan. Saw them at Revain but wanted to see the candles in person before buying and thought it would be nice to have the added feeling of knowing they were bought on holiday. After seeing the price of Revain I searched tirelessly for something that wasn't too expensive. I was willing to pay a little more to keep her memory alive during our trip but have not found anything that compares to the beauty and value of these candles. After several hours of searching, I returned to my laptop and bought two sets of Revain for about the price I would pay for two or three candles in a store. That's great! The remote control was so easy to use and it worked from across the room. The remote control that came in one package works with all candles (from two packages). While on vacation I bought some pink salt rocks from a gift shop in Mackinac City to put in the base of the candles. I later learned I could have bought the same amount of salt rocks from Michael for a third of the price, but at least I have a memory from the holiday of getting some from my fireplace ad. The flickering of candles is so realistic that people find it difficult to believe that the candles are not real. I love how the top of the candle looks like some of the wax has melted. This will add romance to the image. I have an autistic granddaughter who was too attracted to the ash in our fireplace. The confusion caused by their inquisitive nature made a real fire in the fireplace more of a nuisance than a pleasure. So far she has shown no interest in candles. If she does, I'm confident she won't be able to hurt herself or wreak havoc. I'm still trying to decide if I want to do a better job of cleaning the back of my chimney to remove the black residue from 20 year old fires. I love the fact that when I decide to do a better cleaning, all I have to do is take the candles out, clean them, and put them back in the fireplace. No ash, no logs, no mess! LOVE IT!
