Just wanted to express my disappointment with the quality of the book we were sent which was made from my daughter's drawings. At first I got the impression that the title and her name would be printed on the cover. The instructions seemed to imply that all I had to do was attach a sheet of paper with the title and her name on it, and both would be printed on the cover. Instead, my crappy handwriting was left and the cursive was overlaid to make it look awful. Capitalization is used randomly, so the first word in the title, "Captain", is capitalized instead of capitalizing the title. That looks ridiculous. Second, on the last page there is the word "turRtle" - with a random capital "r" in that word. What is that? And there's a space before the comma in the phrase, so it's "1 turRtle ,". As a trained editor, I can't believe I would make such a mistake in a draft I submitted. After all, the bond stinks, in a word. The staples go through the first half of the book, not down the middle of the middle pages. It is off-center about 1/4 inch to the left, leaving the right half of the book unprotected. I know what outsourcing is and I work with suppliers every day, but we still strive for quality. My daughter should be proud of that and look forward to it. On the contrary, it's rather embarrassing and not remotely what we'd expect from a company that should specialize in publishing.
