It's a lot smaller than I expected. I wanted something heavier and wider to cover the record label. The quality is very good, but would be great for suitcase players and small players. It's not a glossy finish but more of a subdued aluminum finish. When used, it leaves about a quarter of an inch of the label on a standard 12" record. Bottom line, I prefer something bigger and a little heavier. But it's great for small gamers. For best sound quality, make sure you have a felt or cork mat in your schedule when using a record weight. This improves your baseline response and tone.
