Mazda 3 2010: Switch

Ordered this part for my 2010 Mazda 3 Hatchback. Sometimes I had trouble shifting gears out of park. After googling a bit I found out that it was probably the brake light switch. The store I called told me to install for $125. Looking under the dash at a very narrow spot I decided if I could save a hundred bucks it was worth a shot. So I leaned over with the flashlight and turned the old switch clockwise until it clicked. I then used a flat head screwdriver to loosen the wiring harness. Putting the new one on was the hard part because I couldn't really see what I was doing. Then I looked at the old part again and saw that the two black parts that move almost in a circle around the shaft are in a different position than on the new part. On the new part, press the rod and snap the black part into place so they line up with the blue collar. Then pass. Insert it into the hole and turn counterclockwise until it clicks into place.
