I bought these speakers for use in a small recording studio for monitoring, mixing and general playback purposes. I usually mix with headphones, but I prefer to have a decent pair of speakers to ensure a regular stereo can play the recording well. After driving the speakers for several hours with the 3rd gen Focusrite Scarlett 18i8, I found them to be far superior to their weight - nice tight bass with no judder, good stereo imaging and crisp resolution with no creaking. Center and lots of power and air movement for a typical small space. I wouldn't use them for party DJing or anything like that, but for near field, sitting at a table or in a chair and listening to music I'm really impressed. The presence of a remote control, two inputs, volume and tone controls is a nice bonus. For those complaining about the controls being off the right speaker, I think they would work just fine if you simply swapped the speakers and input cables from left to right so that the controls are in the left speaker.
