I wanted a smaller kettle to free up table space and save on coffee - when a person who lives alone and only drinks 2 cups a day ended up To make more, I needed a bigger car and ended up throwing it away. I love having a colorful environment so I thought blue would look cute and it is! I've had no problems with it at all - I have tall cabinets so there's plenty of room to open the top, it's easy to clean, the hold feature works well, and the little filters work really well. The filter has a bit of an odd shape, so I just press down on the paper filter to make it fit, and voila! (I had to wait a few days to get the smaller paper filters and I just used the one that came with it, no problem either - I just poured out the set and rinsed it out when I turned the pot off, no problem.) There I only drink 2 cups, after pouring the second cup, I turn it off, rinse the pot, pour in about an inch of water and put it back on the stove, it doesn't get any easier than that! I originally ordered a smaller version of my large kettle where you could set it to start brewing in the morning, it came with a clock and had an auto shut off, but this model took about 6 weeks to ship. Since I've gotten into the habit of filling it up with coffee and water the night before, I don't really do anything with it, just hit the power button when I wake up. I don't need a clock and don't miss it, and since I turn it off when the second cup is poured, I don't have to worry about it burning out either, so I don't need/need to have an off function either. It looks so cute on my counter and I am very happy with it!
