My last blender was maybe a little faster at top speed. But I will take these anytime because the initial speed is low and I can control them. My last lowest speed was TOO fast. Based on the reviews I've read about mixers, it looks like most of them are now. But since I've had this one, I'll never again put up with a blender that can't control the startup speed. I love how I can just spin the wheel at speed, and the more I spin it at a very steady speed, the faster. And while it doesn't seem to happen as quickly as some people, the food actually mixes together in less time. One of the reasons I bought this blender was the beaters. They're a little longer than some and have safety guards to keep food out of the blender. We use natural peanut butter that requires stirring. Most beaters don't reach the bottom of the peanut butter jar. And caused a very messy job when we mixed it. I use dough hooks and they reach to the bottom and the guard holds the peanut butter. And with this blender, peanut butter is mixed twice as fast! That one thing makes it the BEST ever for me.
