Review on 🚽 Camco 39611 Durable High Tensile Strength Sewer Steel Wire Core: 20' HTS Vinyl Hose in Black by Joshua Paulson

I wanted this bare hose with no fittings to replace an apparently identical hose that had developed a tear. I was hoping to save a few bucks by reusing old fixtures that were still fine. Other reviewers have mentioned issues fitting this hose to their fittings, but I figured - 3" hose is 3" hose - why wouldn't it fit? I'm so stupid! I spent at least an hour wrestling with this piece of material but couldn't get it to fit any of my old fittings. I've tried hot water and a heat gun as others have suggested. The hose's plastic material isn't actually a tube - it's a long strip that's wrapped and thermolaminated around a spiral metal spring. Heating the tubing to make it softer and bigger only caused the seams to unravel and the plastic to shrink. I couldn't even make it nearly big enough to fit the fittings in. I ended up returning for a refund and ordered a different product from Thetford. It was more expensive but comes complete with hardware and already assembled. After some use I will write a review about this hose.
