Review on 💡 Minka Aire WCS223, Wall Control with 3-Speeds and Light Dimming Function by Jonathan Arroyo

This product was purchased to replace our original Minka Aire switch. Information on it suggests that it will control a 3-speed fan, ceiling and ceiling lights. The instructions even list separate top and bottom light switches (see attached photo). However, there are only three wires from the transmitter to the fan housing; Two for the motor and one for the headlight fan. If you have both top and bottom lights, you cannot control them independently with this transmitter. You can have EITHER top lighting OR bottom lighting or both. I wired the top and bottom lights together so they turn on at the same time. I also tried to connect as shown in the instructions and as expected only the light came on. Two separate light switches on the controller turn the light on and off. They are also not independent. I went to the Minka Aire website and it turned out that this is the only station they offer. Another small problem; The wall switch accepts only the switch panel screws provided with the unit. The screws on our old control panel are stripped. So be careful not to lose the screws. Overall I would rate this 5 stars except to address the issues above. If separate upper and lower light control is important to you, do not buy this device.
