So far mine is working great powered by my Yamaha AVR as preprocessor with cheap but decent RCA cables. No hum, the trigger works as it should with no need to change any trigger related settings in the AVR. This was a huge upgrade for me, bringing my KEF LS50 to life and sounding so much better than the AVR. Strangely even my SVS powered subwoofer sounds better although I have no idea why as it isn't powered by the monolith. Probably just a placebo effect I think. I mostly listen at moderate volume, but even at moderate volume there is an obvious extra detail, separation (image?), clarity and a slight sense of performance compared to the receiver alone, which is much appreciated. Currently only using 5 out of 7 channels and so far mine isn't getting too hot. (It sits on the floor with nothing blocking airflow across it.) No problem keeping my hand on the warmest parts of the upper, so don't think I need to add a fan even here in Hawaii, where ambient temperatures can be quite large be. So all in all I am very satisfied and can only recommend it.
