My eclectus didn't like this perch

I bought this for its strength and rough texture to better control my parrot's claws. Unfortunately for some reason my parrot didn't like this perch. I was surprised she wouldn't use it after trying several places. I could use it as a secondary location within the habitat, but I was afraid any droppings would be difficult to separate from the rougher part of the pole.
