They are strong and well built. I bought them because I bought my wife a better bike and she doesn't like running the cable through the quick release wheels. I knew it was only a matter of time before they got hacked. They come with a unique key that you can register, so that's pretty cool. The key has a bottle opener on one side, but you can't use it because the key fob is there. The wrench is difficult to use if you have big hands and difficult to really tighten, in fact the front wheel came loose a few times and I had to use a vise on the tool to fully tighten it. Since then I do not have problems anymore. The pin sticks out quite a bit, maybe a quarter of an inch, but comes with a bit of rubber. My wife got her bike out of the rack and already lost the rubber cover so I'm pretty sure one of us will be biting our ankle with a pin sooner or later. Overall, this is a solid product that will definitely last our bike. Thieves here in Chicago. I have already recommended them despite installation problems.
